No Color Names?
Some people have been disappointed that there are no color names on the slides. Since Spec-Tru is used by insulator, bottle, and jar collectors - who may describe similar colors by different names - we have not named each color slide. Instead, we have developed a cross-reference chart of common color names to Spec-Tru color slides. These color indexes (Insulator Index, Fruit Jar Index ) are intended to be an aid in glass color description, in addition to common color name. Spec-Tru is not intended to replace color names, but to be used as a tool to describe them better.
